Help! New gardener and plum tree!

Hi all!
I feel like my newly planted (5weeks) dwarf root stock plum tree started off great but most of the new buds have died off and the current leaves seem to be dying / not developing correctly... any ideas?

Thanks

Are you in the UK?  If so, you probably haven't had much rain since you planted it, so it will need watering.  A good soaking twice a week is better than a daily sprinkle.  Take a one litre plastic bottle, throw away the top and cut two inches off the bottom.  Bury it upside down close to your tree.   This allows you to deliver water close to the roots where it is needed, and encourages roots to grow downwards rather than spread out close to the surface.  If you like, you can squash the bottom bit of the bottle over it to stop it filling with dirt.

If you've been watering adequately, I'm afraid I don't know what else to suggest but I'm sure someone will.

Thanks! I have been watering 2 x daily but I figure maybe just not enough!
