So, I'm digging planting holes for this year's beans in last year's potato bed, and I spy something pinkish in the soil.  I dig a bit further - it's a potato!  Well, we all expect to miss a few of the pea-sized tubers.  Then I noticed a couple more green sprouts at the soil surface.  Long story short, I now have 2 and a half pounds of them in the kitchen.  They are firm and look perfectly edible - I'll let you know after dinner!  Don't know how I managed to miss so many sizeable tubers.  I guess I just didn't dig deep enough - lesson learnt!

I made a lovely Shepherd's pie last week from the same situation @josusa47, I decided there was something to be said for my haphazard gardening after all  :D
