What hedging would you recommend.

Hi,

I hope some people can help me. Any hedge experts out there?.....

I would like to 'fence' my garden using hedging. The kind of thing I am after is...

-Evergreen (green all year round).
-Fills out so there are no gaps to peak through into my garden.
-Not deep rooting.
-Ideally not something that is wide, I would like a narrowish hedgerow, approx 1 foot wide.
-Not conifers (I hate conifers).
-The more affordable the better.

Ideally I want to buy hedging that is already a decent height so that it can be planted and I instantly have a nice amount of privacy to enjoy the nice spring weather.
