Botanically speaking it’s a leaf stalk or petiole. We use it as a fruit.

"We use it as a fruit"

I certainly do! I don't fancy it with my mince and tatties....
That's the trouble with polls. Not accurate enough  ;)

Goes very nicely with a barbecued Mackerel.
How can you lie there and think of England

Every shade of wrong @punkdoc :D

It's a similar argument as cranberries with turkey at Christmas, and lamb with apricots though. Some people love fruit with meat, and some don't.
    Love cranberries though.
Rhubarb tart too - cream or custard?
    Someone will say ice cream....

Wasn't the TV character called Roobarb, not Rhubarb?

I like plain yogurt on my rhubarb crumble.  'im indoors and the aged parent prefer custard.

I think it's a vegetable as long as it's in the garden, and turns into a fruit on its way to the kitchen.  Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, courgettes and aubergines do the opposite.

LOL, the fact we can both remember the programme is a sign of our age :)
