I recently cut down some low growing branches from conifer trees in my garden.
Can I add these to my compost bins?
    Hi
Conifer branches will decompose but, in my experience, can take longer than normal brown composting material.I wouldn’t put any cuttings in over 15mm diameter just because in can take quite a long time for them to decompose
Try shredding them with a lawn mower, if not too big, before putting in to the compost bin

Bash em, smash em, chop, shred em. Do whatever makes them smaller and broken up then stick them in, get your bins hot and it will soften and weaken them. When you think the compost is ready tip it out and any big stuff just mow it again and stick back in. Really you need material and as much as you can get stick it in, turn it and it should warm up and break down. It's great fun 🤣🤣
