Help my alliums have flopped over

Novice needing advice please!
I have two allium purple sensations that have grown well so far into bud. Now at 10 cm high with buds they have both flopped over to my dismay! It has rained a lot over past few days...will they be ok again if they dry out and I stake them? Or is all lost? Any advice hugely appreciated! (They get sun from morning to 2pm maybe this is not enough and I’m scared to move them in the green!)

  • I have today moved them to a slightly sunnier position carefully with lot of grit and a stake. Fingers crossed!

Allium quite often flop, mine were like that earlier in the week and are nicely upright now.
Don't think mine get as much sun as yours either.
  • Thanks! Two survived and one has given up the goat. Oh well!

My husband trampled over several of mine today. Some with very short stems are in a vase.  He wonders why I try and keep him away from flowers and the veg patch try to keep him  to lawns and hedges.
  • Haha! Oh gosh! Wise indeed! I keep my dear boyfriend to lawn duty, but he even managed to scalp that last week so I think best left out of the garden altogether ahaha! In retrospect I think that I planted mine at a time when I knew a lot less about gardening, back in winter, and I fear that I did not add enough grit and sand. My clay soil just isn't allium friendly. We live and learn....
