Hello!  Today being the first of May, I am sending you some Lily of the Valley for good luck in your gardens this year.  It is a tradition in most European countries.  Happy Gardening!!

    Thank you @tuikowhai34
    😊 that is so lovely.
    My little clump of Lily of the Valley that I’ve been nurturing since we moved here nine years ago is blooming happily today.
    Happy Gardening to you !!!

    Thank you @tuikowhai34

    I love Lily of the Valley. I did not know though that is was for good luck. You learn something new every day as they say 😁

    Happy Mayday. Florists are exceptionally open to sell the muget/Lilly of the valley today.

    Yes, Jacqui - with social distancing of course.  Nice to see them today in the otherwise deserted market square.

    Muguet de bois ....  When I lived briefly in France, I understood it was a love gift from a young man to his sweetheart.

    A few years ago, a friend sent me a triple gift of lily of the valley:  plants, scented soap and embroidered handkerchiefs, I thought it was a lovely idea.  The plants were no sooner established than I decided I wanted them in a different place, and transplanted them.  I must have missed some, because now I have them coming up in both places.  :D

    If they are happy they spread really well. We have a small woodland here which is filled with them, unti of course they all get picked for the 1st of May!

    @tuikowhai34 - that's very nice of you.  :)
    I think someone else did this a few years ago on the forum. Lovely.

    Ours is a couple of weeks away from flowering here, so it's nice to see some of the flowers.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    This was my grandmother's favourite flower,  but is hard to grow here as too alkaline. I had it in my wedding bouquet in remembrance of her.🙂
