Also, don't let your lawn get too long, they'll be down pecking at the flowers and seeds!

They are nothing but a nuisance! We get great flocks of them and they’re so noisy .They strip the bird feeder in seconds and their poopy mess is everywhere. I hate them !

I feed all the birds, they eat my cherry tree buds a lot, but it doesn't make any difference to flowers, leaves or fruit.
Why do people hate pigeons? 🤔

Tell us about it. They come when the flowers are coming and then they take out the new leaves.
They take out plums, gages and cherries but (thankfully) don't attack the apples or pears.
We have tried so many things to deter them but to no avail apart form us seeing them and going out and "shouting" at them.

If you had as many wood pigeons as us you’d hate them too . The patio is covered in slimy poop ,they eat everything and not because they’re hungry ,surely ,the amount they get through . We’ve tried not bird feeding but then the other birds miss out . I can count 17 on our back lawn and 14 on the front right now . They really are and absolute pest in the true sense of the word .

I have almost that many, and I love them. They're birds just doing what they do to survive, same as the rest of us. They shit on my car en route, but I'd rather see them than not.

Well you can have my filthy lot with pleasure . Then my sparrows and wrens and robins etc  might get a look in .

I don’t understand how the wood pigeons are preventing the smaller birds from feeding. What sort of feed and feeders are you using?

Agree with @Dovefromabove we have several Wood pigeons and Collared Doves, myriad small birds - Robins, Wrens, Sparrows,  all the Tits, Green and Gold finches, Blackbirds, GS woodpeckers along with the occasional Sparrowhawk.

They are preventing them by scoffing all the seeds before the little ‘ uns can get to it ,that’s how . We can’t keep putting out more all the time ,the flying bullies would only guzzle that too .
