Targeted Advertising!

The personalized ads on this site are a bit spot on.

I'm being snowed with lean to and free standing greenhouses, not having either at the moment, they all look rather tempting.  :)

What are other people seeing? Is it tempting to splash out, or better to wait at the moment?

    I spoke too soon, my lovely lean to ads have now been replaced with garish men's shirts and ads for french gourmet food since I clicked on one of the links.  :D

    I have adblock on the gardeners world site but some other sites don't allow it so i do get targeted ads. This is a real liability near birthdays and xmas as OH and I get adverts based on what either of us are searching for which makes it difficult to keep secrets!

    That is awkward! I usually get a lot of ads for things I already bought on other sites, very annoying when I see them cheaper as I do try to shop around online.

    I get an array of adverts.

    This morning, retirement villages, Disney and wall tiles. All very random

    If you want to stop the ads temporarily open your browser history and delete all your cookies. It's these that store your data of visits to websites and searches etc.. and are used to target ads to you.

    Or get an adblocker.

    I can see my ad blocker has blocked two tracking cookies and two adverts whilst on the Gardeners world website alone.

    If your really paranoid and want to be anonymous boot from a USB stick with an operating system called tails and your completely hidden from the world ( almost)
