Its what I use to sharpen most of my tools . Does my axe perfectly. Whip the lawn mower blade off each year and sharpens nicely with this and the grindstones are still pretty solid 7 years later.
B&Q are saying not available at the moment but, you get the picture . Might be the solution for you. It was for me.
Have got something similar for sharpening my garden tools and lathe chisels, might be a bit overkill for secateurs 😅
@EternalSunshine , I think Fran was worried that your post might be construed as advertising (against forum rules). I'm sure you weren't , but you'd be surprised how often it happens.
Ahh, understood. New to the forum and just trying to get involved 🙂
It's worth mentioning that a bench grinder used badly is terrible for tools. You have to go very slowly and avoiding heating the metal otherwise it will alter the temper of the steel and reduce the hardness and flexibility which will leave the edge prone to chipping and rolling.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

This is precisely why I've never "sharpened" any of mine. I reckon I'd make a total hash of it and they'd be worse than before i started.
Thanks for replies everyone, @Kili Thanks but I think that is way too heavy duty for me. I have seen a few tutorials and i guess i was thinking maybe a whetstone or some sort of hand held object. I believe Falco do one for secateurs but was hoping i could get something that did various tools.

Any mechanical (or non mechanical) tool used badley is not a good idea. Fortunately my grinder has a speed button to sharpen oh so slowly.........

I am interested in sharpening my gardening tools, which includes secateurs, shears, loppers etc, could anyone recommend something for this please? Is it possible for one device or do i need several? I have a 'tool sharp' but can't say i am that impressed, unless i am doing something wrong, which is quite possible! What do you use and how often? t i a

Very impressed and a must have given the price I'd say. I'd genuinely no idea my secateurs could be so sharp.
