Unknown plant

My neighbour has given me this ‘shrub’. I have no idea what it is or where to plant it. He said it had pink flowers on it which have just finished. Any help would be appreciated

    It looks like a Ribes - an ornamental currant.
    Do the leaves smell of blackcurrant?
