Yet more vine weevils...

Despite using nematodes last year and the bug clear ultra stuff the year before my tub is still plagued with them.
I have taken out all the plants and left them in a bucket of water.
I was very surprised to find one crawling out of a hyacinth bulb so will chuck those.
I used a mix of JI3 and compost and as I cannot get any replacement  soil I  wondered if  removing the top 9 ins or so and  spreading it out and picking out the grubs will be enough or will there be unseen eggs waiting to hatch?

Eggs are laid on the surface, next to the stem of the plant, if that info is any use to you.

Vine weevil nematodes have to be used twice a year, Spring and autumn.

Thank you @Lyn and @Palustris. Learned something new!
I wonder if something like a brassica collar would protect a plant and stop the eggs being laid or getting into the soil when they have hatched.

Been through half a large trug of soil today and squashed a lot of weevils  some had started to have legs 😝😨
