Currants - offshoots - keep or cut?

I have these new offshoots growing from the bottom of my currant trees. Should I keep them or cut them?

What type of currant is it?

The ones I grow are usually grown as multi-stemmed shrubs so their pruning would be different. If you want to keep it as a tree then you need to keep it growing as just one stem but it would not be the normal way I have seen currants grown.

It has been grafted and grown as a 'standard', so you need to remove the suckers from the base as those are from the rootstock. Scroll down this page to "Growing Blackcurrants as standards":
