Mine will drop a few old leaves after flowering. It is young, but I don't think its happy. Get it out and put it in a pot of only ericaceous soil, feed it with roddenderon feed. Not tap water. Once a week during the summer should be enough. Once its bigger you can try it in the ground. Try bark as a top dressing.
Feeding an ailing plant is never a good idea though. You would put it in suitable soil, probably potted in this case, and get it in the shade to let it recover, just watering when needed.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Never noticed this was from April, hopefully its still hanging in there, I love rodedendrons.
I bought one a few years ago from a garden center, and it struggled in the ground, getting it out and using feed to condition the soil was what worked for me.
