Sick artichoke seedling

Hi

I have three purple romanesco artichoke seedlings. All have been pricked out in to their own pots in recent weeks and have the same peat free compost and conditions in general.

Two of them are doing well and one of them is sick. I need help working out what is wrong with it. Overwatering? Disease? Nutrition?

Can anyone help?

Artichokes have deep tap roots. Is the container too shallow?

Yes as a matter of fact the pot the sick one is in is more shallow than the pots the other two are in. Would that cause this though?

Well it's worth putting it in a deeper pot to see if it perks up😊

So it doesn't look like over watering or a lack of a certain nutrient?

It does look a bit dry. I'd still sort the soil depth issue. The ones in the pots will run out of root space soon too. I've had one of the smaller varieties - violetta di chioggia (sp) for over 15 years and even that can grow 6' high and the individual leaves can be over 3' long. I only grow mine for the architectural foliage and the beautiful flowers( which you don't get if you grow them to eat)
