    Parsley, coriander and chives would be worth trying as well.

    Not really. It seems to self seed but I've never noticed it flowering. I suppose it must. Not as invasive as mint. I just dig it out when I see it.

    I have my lemon balm in a sunken trough same as the mints and it seems to stay put just fine.  I sometimes have to clip the mint when it tries to make a run for it but never had a problem with the lemon balm.

    Burnet on the other hand!  That seeds everywhere as does the sweet cicely but, you're right @B3, weeding the herb garden is a delight for the nose.  :)
