I have been looking at it tonight, together with the moon nearby. Beautiful.

The sky with no planes is so amazing. I'm already grieving the time when they all come back.

Venus is incredible at the moment.
I've been stood outside every night just appreciating the silence. I wish The Man could turn the street lights off and let us have a taste of the pre-industrial world for a few weeks.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

The light pollution is so unnecessary. Our street lights were replaced. They could easily have had shields on them at little extra cost and probably have been more efficient with the light being directed where it's needed.
We're near the flight path to Heathrow but not on it. There was a constant hum which we stopped noticing. I'm sure we'll notice it for a while when flights are resumed. It'll probably drive the people near the airports bonkers to hear it again after a few weeks/ months of respite.

This is a very helpful resource, you can enter your address and actually preview where the satellites will be, with an animation placed over the streetview view of your road.

That looks like a very interesting link @WillDB. I had a look but unfortunately it crashed my kindle so I think I'd better leave it alone😕

Silence @wild edges??    Not here!   Frogs in the pond, crickets, owls, nightingales and, after consulting the RSPB site, some dunnocks and warblers who don't sleep!

No streetlights here and houses have shutters so lots of lovely stars especially when the moon is either not up yet or still new like now.
