  This looks like a form of aralia. Similar to a Balfour or chicken gizzard?

  I believe this to be Polyscias guilfoylei...Geranium aralia.

  Thanks all, Shefflera/Pleranda elegantissima looks like the right one to me. Unfortunately the plant died last winter, reading up on it now it looks like it might have been too cold in my house.

  It is nothing nothing like Schefflera elegantissima!
  
  Your leaves are round in outline...more like below.
  While Schefflera elegantissima...is like the a star fish...a central point with several arms coming from the middle...in a very pointed zig zag!
