Yellow veg seedlings

Hello,
A lot of my veg seedlings are a bit yellow this year. I haven’t treated them any differently from previous seasons, they are in new compost, the weather has been good. It’s happened with tomatoes, aubergines, peas, and now the first 2 courgettes have sprouted, both of them 2 parts green to 1 part yellow, straight out of the seed. Is the compost dodgy do you think? I wouldn’t have thought that compost quality would affect a seedling right out of the seed though - don’t they get their initial food from the seed itself? Plus, I don’t think anywhere that sells compost is open round here at the moment.  What remedial steps could I take? The tomatoes are definitely slower to grow than they should be.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

A couple of my carrot seedlings were initially yellow when they popped up. They turned green after a few days. I’ve not checked on them for a couple of days so will have a look tomorrow. Had no problems with the other carrot seeds I showed a few weeks back, they came up green.

Hoping someone will be able to explain.
