Gillenia (Bowman’s Root)

Hello everyone.  Does anybody have an opinion on whether Gillenia Trifoliata would be suitable for a Chelsea chop?  It got very tall and straggly last year and required staking.  It’s currently a couple of foot tall (see below) - why oh why does my phone insist of changing the orientation of the picture when I resize it! 😡

    I don't know. I would have thought that taking out the tips would promote bushier growth, there's no reason why you can't cut back some but not all, and see what happens. If you can see obvious growth points low down, it would suggest you can be a bit more radical.
