Planting bare root roses

My recent order from DA has just arrived along with a little information booklet on how to plant etc. But it doesn't make clear whether you can bend the roots around the bottom of the hole, or if they should remain vertical.

You can kind of splay the roots out a bit but I wouldn’t bend them around. It’s better to dig a big enough hole to properly accommodate the roots. Proper preparation now will pay off later 🌹

Never realised how deep a 16" hole was. Anyway apart from a couple of tentacle like roots on the Windflower, I think I've managed more or less to keep them upright.

Sounds like you’ll be enjoying lots of lovely roses, feel free to post photos on the Rose thread if you feel like it 🙂
