Liriope muscari help

SueAtooSueAtoo Posts: 380
I seem to be inundated this year with arum maculata (lords and ladies/cuckoo pint). It's in my liriope muscari and having dug up a clump there seems to be lots of bulbs. Am I right, liriope does not grow from bulbs, it's supposed to be tuberous?

They are water storage roots as I understand it.

Thanks. I dug up the whole clump and washed the roots. Having got rid of the arum, the liriodendron roots looked like ordinary roots with small swellings, looked like an immature potato plant. I'm sure I used to have a book that showed not only the top the plant but also the roots - helped with identification.

Liriope not liriodendron, wish it wouldn't auto correct.
