Advice on cobaea

I watched a Sarah Raven clip and she mentioned these are great for deep window boxes for cascading down. I am thinking of putting in the hanging troughs this year. Will this equally work? Anyone have any advice here as concerned they might not take. Thank you

I’ve grown the purple one last year. I’ve sown the seeds early in the year, possibly beginning of March. I’ve allowed them to climb through a conifer tree and they’ve grown at least three meter high before I had any flowers and those were few and at the end of the season. I’m thinking that troughs would be too shallow.

I usually grow these but not this year I got a bit fed up of them not flowering until really late in the season. They do grow quite prolifically and tend to ramble and climb not seen them grown as trailers.
