Any idea what this is please?

Hi guys,

I am completely new to gardening and have had many fails so far 🙈. I have come on here to try and learn and muddle my way through.

We stayed at a cottage in Whitby last summer and this bush was in the garden. It was massive, standing taller than my 5’. It was so unusual but am struggling to find what it could be. Any ideas?

It looks like one of the euphorbias, if it is be aware the sap can cause blistering so be careful how you handle it.

Hi Esther it looks very similar to Euphorbia Wulfenii takes around 2 years to reach full height this is a picture of mine currently in flower. As mentioned by @chrissythegardener the milky sap is produces from a wound can cause blisters so always wear gloves.
