Aslong as they are watered, keep them sheltered from wind and keep them warm, they'll be fine.  Likely a bit of transplant shock
  • @Songbird-1 thank you, the second set of leaves are showing so that’s good to hear I’ve times right! I still have a few back ups left over incase these fail but fingers crossed!

Next year save yourself the trouble of pricking out. If you can find an old wood box or deep plastic tray sow them in there and leave them there until ready to plant out. There's no need to plant the seedlings on. When there at a good size just take them out of the box/tray in clumps and break them up and plant out.

Marigolds are pretty tough. Go to this link and see how its done. Scroll to 11minutes50 seconds and you can see what I mean.
Just one thing he will be calling them Tagetes, but are commonly know as Marigolds.

Good tip thank you! Will remember that for sure. I definitely over done it in the initial pots. If I’m honest I didn’t have trust in own ability ahah!
  • I used to work in propagation in a local nursery and it was common practice after pricking out seedlings to drape shade netting over them for a few days to help with the transpiration. I always do it now with my seedlings at home.

Thank you for the reassurance! I have moved them into an area where they won’t get the full sun only the evening as to not scorch them :)
