Replacing a Fence with climbing roses

I've just moved house and urgently need to replace the damaged fence. It's clearly been there years and has mature roses growing up one side. I've had a quote to replace the fence, but wondered what I need to do to preserve the roses when it's replaced, as I certainly don't want to lose them! Any advice greatfully received.

I imagine your only option will be to cut them back quite severely to allow the fence work to be carried out, but they should regrow.
