Salvia hot lips pruning

Hi everyone! Yet another post from me. So I have a salvia hot lips that was planted last year but now has some bare stems on it due to the cold winter wind. Should I prune it now? It looks like it may have some flower buds on it?

For what it's worth, I cut it back savagely every year in (early) spring, and I think it likes it.
