Potted up from a sucker on another plant, was wondering what we have?

    A prunus of some sort?  Was it near a flowering cherry or similar?

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Yes, it was a sucker on a Prunus 'Amanogawa' Tree

    Those are generally grafted onto a different rootstock ('Colt' and 'Gisela 5' seem popular) so the sucker may have come from that.  If that's the case it will be a pretty dull tree.  However, if the sucker was from above the graft, it will be another Amanagawa but on its own roots, so may grow larger or smaller than the mother (grafted) tree.

    It was below the graft, and noticeably different foliage, so guess it may be a boring one :)
