When to plant out gladioli

I have two pots of gladioli which I put into the unheated greenhouse at the end of last year. They are growing away well.  Is it too soon to pop them out in the garden yet?  I intend to sink the pots into the ground so that they can be lifted again next autumn.  Any advice or tips welcome.  Thank you.

    After a quick look at the weather forecast I put mine in yesterday. I'm not any kind of expert though. Can just say that mine have seen their third winter and came out nicely last year...
    But I'm also interested in what the community has to say, might even be willing to take them out again.
