Ornamental grasses- stupa gigantea transplanted- is it best to cut it back while it gets established

    No, don't cut Stipa gigantica back, just comb it to remove any dead shoots.

    Even though it looks a bit sad and brown after lifting and repositioning it in another bed? Do I just wait for it to recover- my “gut’ tells me to trim it back to allow the roots to get established again. But not sure!

    They often don't come back if you chop off the foliage. Most evergreen grasses should just be combed to remove dead shoots.

    Ok I will not touch it - just water it and comb out the dead growth as it dies off as you recommend. Thank you for such a prompt response.
