Constantly flooded border, what is my best option?
Front garden border flooded almost all year round - house sits at the bottom of a steep road, so probably below natural water level. Solution needs to be low maintenance as very hard to dig/weed. Is it better to 1) build it up with grit/soil/sand and plant irises, fritillaries etc. Or 2) build a makeshift wooden deck/cover to hide the area, with maybe irises etc popping through holes in the wood? I appreciate it may sink but it won’t be sat on/walked on!
