Are my fruit trees done for?

So I'm a total rookie and I've posted a couple of times on here. Basically this winter I planted a few bare root fruit trees. I knew really that their chances were quite slim as I had no choice but to plant in heavily waterlogged soil due to the floods etc. Anyway they did seem to have bloomed ok and be doing fine and we have been watering during the sunny days cautiously. However in the past couple of days I'm noticing that a lot of the leaves on all the trees are not looking too great (although some look fine) They seem to be black around the edges or one or two are almost totally black. I've included a couple of pics. Are they just done for because of the waterlogging? Or is it the other way round and I'm not watering enough? Or is it just a thing that's happening during early leaf development and they might improve as the season goes on? There is also something a bit nasty looking on my bramley apple (also pictured) although this tree was actually planted in the least wsterlogged patch. My suspicion is that it's all basically an evil case of root rot and fungal infection due to the waterlogging but I'd appreciate any tips and opinions. Don't really want to be watering trees all summer if they're a lost cause. Thanks

  • Strangely enough I also live in the Derbyshire area too. I hadn't especially noticed that it was frosty the lasy couple of mornings although when we got up this morning it was much colder than it had been! That's how all these grafts look on the bottom tbh. I thought that was how they were meant to look.... I did tell you I'm a rookie  :D

Oh and the pine needles are my attempt at mulching haha. It was a bag of mulch I laid basically (again... rookie) To clarify I don't think the ground is waterlogged now at all it just was whilst the weather was bad over winter
