Pumpkins/Squashes

First year growing pumpkins and squashes for the allotment.  My seedlings are currently in 1 litre pots, but outgrowing them.  I need to harden them off over the next week or two, before planting at the plot.  Do I need to put them into bigger pots first, or could I get away with leaving them in the current pots for another week or two?

That looks grand, pot it on if the roots have filled the pot, It will be glad of the space and extra nutrients in new compost before it goes out.

Agree, pot-on first as the roots grow so quickly that they can become pot-bound in just a week and will struggle to spread out into the surrounding soil when planted out, if that happens.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thanks both, the roots are growing out of the bottom of the pots, so I will pot them all up now.
