Will Rudbeckia bloom again

Hi,
I’m after some advice. Last year I bought 2 beautiful Rudbeckias. The variety is the Rudbeckia hirta Kissing Smiley. I thought they were perennials but reading on the internet I’m getting conflicting information. 

Have any of you grown this variety before? Did they come back the following year? If they do, when should I expect to see new shoots (I’m in the South East)?

    Hi Nush I've not grown that variety but my rudbeckia are just coming through now. I'm in the north east so your should come up anytime. Most are perennial, watch and wait would be my advice.

    Thanks:) I am being a bit impatient. I’ll wait and hopefully they’ll come up soon.

    Most gardener's are impatient it's kind of an inherent part of it, always desperate for the plants to grow and bloom

    Rudbeckia Hirta varieties are the annual ones and are easy to grow from seed and there are some beauties.

    My perennial ones are only just peeping through and I’m in the NW which has a milder climate.

    Thanks Brightstar. It is a beautiful bi-colour variety with a red centre. It’s very cheerful that’s why I’m eager to see it again. 

    I do have some seed from last year. I might seed some this weekend.
