    Maybe purpurea plena elegans?

You can search that site giving tepal colour and anther colour plus flowering time etc to help whittle down the options.

Just saw this on Arrosoir et Secateurs.  It’s an interesting one alright.

It's not plena elegans as I grow that (group 3) and it is only growing shoots at the moment. Given the flowering time (now) I suspect it's a montana cultivar or hybrid, maybe a double which hasn't fully opened yet?

I suspect this one is in France @BobTheGardener so may well be earlier than yours.

It would have to be grown as group 2 in that case as mine won't come into flower until about June.

We'll have to wait for @Papi Jo to come back with more info.

@Obelixx Yes,  this comes from a garden in Brittany, West coast of France. @lilysilly I have suggested Broughton Star to the garden owner, waiting for his reply.
    Thanks for all the suggestions.

Broughton Star is a good shout.   Funnily enough I had this in my Belgian garden and it grew like the clappers along a wire mesh fence but, just as the flower buds were forming, we had a -16C frost and the whole plant just died so I never saw the flowers and it never did a Lazarus like some of my other clems.
