Laurels

Just planting 30 laurel plants but im
not sure whether I should leave to grow or cut back a little to encourage to grow. Need them to become a privacy hedge. Any advice on Laurels? Thank you!

I'd cut back by half - reduces strain on roots and encourages bushy growth. Don't think of it as losing expensive plant material, your money is invested in the roots.
