Moss removal from lawn

Just looking for ideas on this. I normally spray iron sulphate to blacken the moss and then take it out. However I have seen a recommendation online to rake out first then apply the moss killer before raking again. The theory being this way the moss killer gets all the way down and is more effective
Any thoughts

We rake before and after as well.

Makes perfect sense to rake out what you can, then kill what is left.
