Ah ok so you think the last (3rd one) is mimulus..does this have a tall yellow flower? I remember I have a lovely yellow flowering plant there last year. I presume then that this is not a weed (the 3rd one)?
I certainly consider mimulus to be a weed, I've fought to get rid of it for 8 years since we moved here.
I really liked them last year, so I think I will leave this and see what happens!! Thanks for the link! We have very large garden, so anything that looks lovely and keeps other weeds at bay I'm happy with!! :)Thank you!

That is probably your best approach. I like to leave weeds till I a) know what they grow into and b) how fast they grow
Some weeds you have to get on top of or they will take over. Others can be left and when they do get too big can usually be pulled out easily by hand (but always get rid of the roots too if they don't come out)
There are some exceptions like dandelions and this other annoying weed I don't know the name of (think its oxalis weed - looks a bit like big clover)that multiply fast if you leave them

im quite fond of them in a natural style waterside garden.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
