Planting ideas for this spot please

The first picture is taken from the west and the second from the east. It gets some sun in the morning but more in the evening. However as it’s very narrow it is certainly not full sun. The building is an old garage next to the house and I’d like to plant up the wall and over the garage. On the house wall there is a window so it would provide a nice view. We also use this pathway and the main way in and out of the house. I am pretty sure that digging down I would find a lot of rubble but I’m happy to create quite a large hole and fill it with compost and soil but long term it would need to root itself. I was thinking of an climber or vine and if it goes mad over the top of the roof etc that would be fine. Something scented and or floral for this tricky spot would be ideal too. So, gardening experts and addicts. What would you do with this wall?? All ideas greatly appreciated.

No idea why the link's come out like that !You can also have a search for other climbers on that page link
any climber rampant enough to cover it also extends outwards as well which would impede access.
A hydrangea petrolis although slow to get going does get big, its self clinging but is deciduous but I think there is an evergreen one.
Ivy, lots of variegated ones.
Could put up a slim shelf and put pots or window boxes of colourful annuals
