Ramsons

The limited opportunities for exercise during this Covid lockdown led OH and me to a lovely walk today along a local lane.  The sun shone, the birds sang and it was a really nice quiet walk.
Then we happened across a bank of Ramsons - beautiful wild garlic in abundance.  I picked a large bunch, brought it home and made pesto (with ground almonds from the store cupboard in the absence of pine nuts).
We shall return to that lane - but I wondered if anyone had some successful recipes other than pesto for my foraging, please?

Go to the BBC Good Food website and put wild garlic in teh search box.   Loads of ideas.

We had chicken and ransom pasta for dinner last night. It was from my tame wild garlic supply though rather than the proper wild stuff. We normally use it in omlettes but eggs are a precious resource at the moment.

Thanks for the advice - I shall follow it up and may experiment a bit, too.

The ransom pasta was so good we had it again last night.

It isn't growing much round here yet, but my girls used to bring it back to the house when they were little, as it grew next to the wood across from our old house.  :/

Like the taste of garlic, but not the smell. It's got worse as I've got older too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
