Is it me or are plants more advanced than normal ? I have buds in my fushias and roses ! Are they to early? Love the forum cheers Tony.

    My fuchsias have been flowering at least a month, they don't usually start until July.  Even the one I moved in the autumn and was afraid I'd killed.  In Llandudno.

    Not here, we do have ice on the bird baths every morning though, to go with the frosts on the grass. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Was chilly down here in Surrey. Thought I’d rather be safe than sorry and decided to move my chocolate cosmos, sulphur cosmos and cacti back indoors yesterday evening when I read that we were forecast a low of 1 or 2 degrees C. A sudden cold dip after the lovely weather of the past week. Nice and sunny now, but supposed to be cold again tonight. Always the trickiest time of the year to try to predict. The changing of the seasons.

    We did have a frost last night (SE UK near sea and Downs) was all gone before, 7am 1c from 2am, I accidentaly left a couple of non-hardy fuchsias outside in a hanging basket, last October,they are flowering now, some of the roses have had buds a few weeks, perhaps it is just because some folk who would normaly be at work, are now at home and noticing things more.

    My greenhouse was bubble wrapped and I usually heat it to just frost free. Not needed this year, the max-min thermometer hasn't gone below 1.5C all winter and some daytime temps have been high 20s.
    'Normally' would expect snow and temps as low as -12C, especially in Jan and Feb, this year I was gardening outside without a coat, let alone the usual Arctic gear.
    No idea what 'normal' is anymore, but I've a queasy feeling I'm not going to like it much!

    All ways think positive  :) I haven't bubble wrapped mine for 3years and all is good.
