Plant ID request please. I am posting on behalf of my in-laws who asked my advice about these.

To Quote my father in law "Can you ask on the forum about this highly invasive thing There is a slight onion /garlic smell to it but it’s ruined our English blue bells as all you  see are these white things"

Any help identifying would be gratefully received.

I think it might be allium triquetrum .

Yes ... I agree ... we have it too ... just have to keep pulling it up.

One consolation is that it’s edible so you can get your own back. Great in a creamy leek and potato type soup, stir fry, omelette, dauphinoise or with a curd cheese ... lots of ways to use it.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Thankyou both @AnniD and @Dovefromabove I shall pass on the ID. Looks like its going in the pot!
