Plant ID...Grass from Wilko..or is it?

I put some grass seed down from wilko and now a load of wheat looking stuff is in patches over my lawn. Is this a grass type or is it a weed...or even a crop?! Thanks.

  • Thanks Dove,I appreciate that. The site linked says the lawn may have been over-nitrogened (if thats a word!) I wonder if greenthumb have over fed the lawn..it defo wasnt me!

  • Just thought...does iron sulphate make the lawn acid? I put some on to get rid of moss?

A lot of rain can make the top layer of soil acid by washing any lime/chalk in the  soil away. It’s been a very wet winter ...
