How to design magnolia tree

Hi folks, wondered if you would have any tips on how to prune this magnolia tree to make it a bit nicer to look at, or a bit more intentional. It's just been left to run riot the last few years at least.
Thanks!

First of all, observe the rule of the 3Ds.   Cut out at the base of its stem any dead, diseased or damaged wood.

Then look again and remove any branch that is crossing and rubbing another as this will lead to future disease or damage.

Then look at the shape you have left and see how to balance it to an open, even goblet shape.

Then make sure you feed and water it and remove all weeds and rubbish from around its feet.

  • Thanks : ) Good tips!

A goblet shape, like a wine glass? With flat top or would you round it off more like a lollipop?
