Big plants in small pots?

Hello, my name's Sophie and was wondering if any of you experienced gardeners can help me please. I'm new to owning plants and I'm still learning about the different types. Ive made a plant pot to stand in the corner of my room and it have space for a 6 inch container. Do any of you know of a special kind of plant that grows big in a small pot? I'd really like this plant to be tall and fill the room but is that possible with a small container? I know some plants need more space than others?
Id really love some inside knowledge can't seem to get the answer on Google xox thabkyou

  • Hi @sophieheldt welcome to the forum. Most contributors here tend to garden outdoors but may come up with some houseplant ideas. Thinking about size only is counterproductive. Start from the light conditions and average temperature of your space and then you can narrow it down to a list of plants. Maybe look up a few houseplant blogs/YouTubers that can show examples of mature plants and their pot requirements? For maximum impact from one plant there are two things in my mind, a tall plant or a climber. Jamie Chen Song has grown a huge array of plants in fairly small containers...look him up 😉

James Wong is THE expert on houseplants, together with Anne Swithinbank.  You could try googling both of them perhaps.
