Dwarf mulberry mojo berry ('Matsunaga') (PBR)

I’ve just ordered one of these on an impulse shopping spree.

Has anyone grown these in a pot?
Do I gradually repot to bigger pots or plant in as big a pot as possible when I get it?
How wide and deep a pot will it need?

Thanks.

  • This article made for a farcical read https://www.gardenfocused.co.uk/fruitarticles/mulberry-charlotte-russe.php sounds like you'll be fine growing it in a pot...hope the fruit tastes better than reported. How big a pot is it in? 2ltr or bigger? If that size I'd go a couple of sizes up and leave it at that... can't see the benefit of overpotting a small plant.

Oh dear! I’m glad I went for the small cheaper one now. It says 13cm pot so will go couple sizes bigger.

    Thanks for the link.
  • Fingers crossed @Skylarks worth a punt no matter what 😉

  • I'm growing a Chilean Guava on a whim...from a heavily discounted little plant from a garden centre. Doubled in size in a year...have just repotted it, let's see if we'll get any blooms/fruit this year.

Yes, worth a go and it’s winnings from premium bonds as well 😁. I still remember the joy of tasting my first mulberry.

Fingers crossed for your Guava plant @amancalledgeorge. That’s a very unusual tasting fruit.
