perennial grass recommendaton
in Plants
I planted some grasses in my border in groups of three last year. Two have grown but the carex has died. Any suggestions please for replacements. Sunny border and nothing too tall.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We always have damp enough soil for H/chloa @KeenOnGreen - I have one in a raised bed in sun most of the day, but yes - they are excellent shade plants. Very easy too.

It's not perennial as such, it doesn't die down in winter. It's an evergreen.
...good for a few years then needs replacing but it seeds itself.. very easy... and a graceful, not too tall little grass... purplish flowers turn buff coloured later..
