I live very close to Heathrow and we often get strange weather different from the area in general, or at least we used to. My late husband worked at the airport and maintained that Heathrow generated its own micro-climate because of all the jet engines accelerating the air flow around and about.
Don't know about temperature @Nanny Beach but I am definitely enjoying the relative peace, barely a plane an hour at the moment.

And to think folk used to believe it was down to whether the oak was in leaf before the ash 🙄
Cloud seeding can only work in certain specific circumstances ... eg if an event is due to take place and rain is due at that time, seeding the clouds would cause the rain to fall before rather than during the event. It is said that is how the USSR used it before big military parades. But as I said it’s very localised and a bit hit and miss. It can’t effect general weather patterns.

Logic and science never got in the way of my Mum's pronouncements @Dovefromabove, even if she had had the benefit of a reasonable education I doubt it would have made a dent

If seeding clouds to make rainfall was a serious possibility drought would be a thing of the past. Weather patterns in the last few decades have been hugely affected by human activity - clearing rainforests, pollution from industry and transport and so on.

I have notice that our blue skies seem bluer in the last week or so. Barely a plane going over and into Castle Donington airport at the moment. The skies seem more Australian. You will have to have been to know what I mean. The first time I came back from Oz, someone thought all the blue skies on the photos had been tweaked. No, they really are that blue.
Pollution innit? Or lack thereof. Have noticed it even here where the prevailing winds are off the unindustrialised Atlantic and the night skies are clearer and sharper too tho not today as it's clouding over. Supposed to get a bit of rain tomorrow.
