Japanese knotweed?

Can anybody tell me what this is, I had a few japanese knotweed sprouts last year and whatever this is has come back with a vengeance in my garden.

    These are definitely not Japanese knotweed.

    They look like seedlings from a nearby tree.

    Any Beech trees near by? That's what the seedlings look like to me.

    Sorry Palustris but they don't look right for Fagus sylvatica ..beech seedlings.
