Clematis cutting by layering
Hello
Long time no see. Site set up rather different to get around.
Has anyone had success doing laying cuttings of clematis? Been reading a few articles.
I'm going to try standard methods but I've never succeeded yet hence the laying thought .
Also has anyone used honey or apple cider vinegar as rooting compound element?
Many thanks . Hope all are well.

I have tried layering but gave up as it didn’t work, probably didn’t do it correctly, but may have been the deer. It was years ago before I realised that deer nibble clematis.
Sorry not to have been helpful but my post will push this back to the top.
Amazed I managed to log in. Was go to re register otherwise.
Not bad here. How are you ?
Well I've had a go at some cuttings today. Trying 3 different clematis. Abeliene ?sp picardy and durandii
Durandii was struggling in the cold wet , only ever got a few flowers so trying layering and one in water.
OH said throw it away and get a new one . But i feel I'm letting the plant down if I don't try.
